Central to Qpay's payment processing services is the payment processing platform. Purpose designed from the ground-up rather than adapted from a generic package, it can be run concurrently at multiple sites to give increased resilience and complete service reliability to the dial-up terminals, Qpay Virtual Payment System (QVPS), and Self-Service Payment Kiosk based portals that it services. This allows reporting and operation to be carried out seamlessly over a mixed domain of terminals and POS outlets.

The Qpay Platform offers a general-purpose transaction-processing framework for both account based and pre-pay systems. The object-oriented design allows for rapid development of modules supporting new message types, communications protocols and virtual products.

The Platform was designed bottom-up for online electronic products, based on years of designing and building mission-critical, high availability banking and financial transaction processing systems.

Designed and proven for 24*7*365 availability and reliability with no single point of failure. At every stage of system design, a primary concern has been to ensure that no single failure can degrade the service. The servers within the Platform can be operated simultaneously at multiple sites, and every server can seamlessly handle all transaction processing in the case of a partial or complete loss of another host.

When a service partner or agent (such as a large retail chain) requires an interface that differs from any of the standards, Qpay can quickly develop a new module which operates independently of the existing retailer/service-provider interfaces.
